A TRAFFIC JAM LOGIC PUZZLE
Unblock Car.
A 6×6 grid. One red car.
Make room for a way out.
Level 1 / 120
Slide the red car out to the right. Each slide counts as one move, however far it travels. Cars stay in their own lane.
Keyboard & accessible controls
Tab to a car, then use its arrow keys or WASD. Hold Shift to slide to the end of its free space. The red car exits with Right when its path is clear. Or choose a car and any destination below; each choice is one move.
target: row 3, column 2, length 2.

CLEAR THE WAY, ONE SLIDE AT A TIME
How to play Unblock Car
Slide the other vehicles out of the way, then drive the red car through the exit on the right. Take your time: this is a sliding block puzzle, with no timer to beat.
- Follow each vehicle’s lane. Horizontal cars move left and right. Vertical cars move up and down. Cars and trucks cannot rotate, overlap or pass through one another.
- Make space before moving forward. Drag a vehicle along its lane. A continuous slide of any distance counts as one move. The red car’s final drive out also counts as one move.
- Try another route. Undo a move, restart, or request a hint for one legal next step. You can choose any level. The best possible move count includes the final exit.
START WITH THE BLOCKER
A five-move route through Level 1
In the full collection, choose Level 1 and restart it to follow this example. The red car cannot leave yet. Work backward from car-8, the vehicle in its way, and make the space it needs. This is one shortest route; other five-move orders also work.
Unlike parking games where every car leaves, only the red car exits here. The other vehicles stay on the grid and may need to move back later.
- Open a side lane. Move car-4 down one square, then slide car-3 left three squares. Each whole slide is one move.
- Make room above the blocker. Move car-10 right one square, then slide car-8 up two squares.
- Take the exit. Slide the red car out to the right. That final drive is move five. For a different kind of plan, try the varied path and look for places where the red car itself can make room.
A LITTLE ROOM TO THINK
Traffic jam puzzle tips.
What makes a good move?
Look beyond the first vehicle blocking the red car. Find which space that vehicle needs, then work backward to clear that space. Sometimes moving away from the exit opens the only useful route.
How do I play with a keyboard?
Tab to a vehicle to select it. Arrow keys or WASD move along its lane; Shift with a direction slides to the end of the free space. Use the available destination buttons to choose any legal distance in one move. A rightward move drives the red car out immediately when its path is clear.
Can I play on my phone?
Drag a car with one finger; it stays on its movement axis and snaps to the grid when released. You can also select a vehicle and choose a destination without dragging. Browser zoom remains available outside the board.
Do hints change the puzzle?
A hint highlights one move on a shortest route from your current position. It does not move the vehicle for you. If a search reaches its resource limit, the game says it could not finish checking, rather than claiming the puzzle is impossible.
Are all 120 puzzles solvable?
Every published starting layout is checked by an offline shortest-path solver and its full solution is replayed against the game rules. The current 120 starting layouts have been reviewed for repeated vehicle systems and puzzle pacing. Earlier puzzles replaced in this edition remain available with their original boards and saved progress. We do not claim the layouts are globally unique.
Will my progress be saved?
When browser storage is available, the game remembers your current moves, completed levels, best move counts and times, and sound preference. Earlier-edition saves are carried forward with the same puzzle IDs and boards; a new puzzle never inherits an old puzzle’s record. Restarting a puzzle keeps your completed records. Saves stay in this browser profile; they do not synchronize between devices.
